The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) has added new capabilities to its PSE Electronic Allocation System (PSE EASy) platform, which allows Local Small Investors (LSIs) to participate in initial public offers (IPOs) and follow-on offerings (FOOs). PSE EASy now includes an integrated electronic payment system, allowing LSIs to pay for subscribed shares through online banking. “The ease offered by electronic payment within the platform will hopefully encourage more LSIs to use PSE EASy to buy shares when there are public offerings,” said PSE President and CEO Ramon S. Monzon. Those who prefer over-the-counter (OTC) bank payments can still use them. Aside from the e-payment function, PSE EASy allows you to change the payment method and subscription. On the latter, the LSI may opt to add, reduce, or cancel subscribed shares if the subscription has not been paid. The portal also supports Single Sign-On (SSO) login, allowing users to access other Exchange sites such as PSE EQUIP and PSE Academy. The e-payment method may already be utilized to pay PSE EASy subscriptions for the expected first IPO in 2024. PSE EASy was introduced in June 2019 to replace the manual subscription process for LSIs, which required visiting physical kiosks in PSE offices and specific regions of the city. The introduction of PSE EASy has increased the LSI program's scope to 44 countries, 7 overseas territories, and 80 Philippine provinces. Previously, the majority of LSI participation came from retail investors centered in Metro Manila. Three IPOs and two FOOs have used PSE EASy to fully subscribe for their LSI tranches out of 29 total offers. “PSE aims to provide a better experience across its technology platforms. I hope the enhancements introduced in PSE EASy will make IPO and FOO subscription more accessible and efficient for investors,” Mr. Monzon added.
