Personal Development, Business, Finance, and Investing for Everyone
An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest.
Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. - Confucius There are many things about work that you take for granted. But when you're no longer working you find that you miss them. Structure Your job gives structure to your day. You know exactly what time you have to get up, when to do particular tasks, when to eat, and even when to relax and have fun. Without the structure that work provides, you feel like you're just rambling around with nothing important to do. Social Contact
If you are like most people, the workplace is where you interact with others. Because of shared circumstances, you form a bond with the people that you work with. And when you no longer work you lose a big part of the social aspect of your life. Purpose Your work gives you purpose. You have somewhere to be and something to do. You are contributing and this gives you a sense of self worth. When you leave your job you feel a lack of purpose. Money The loss of income would mean some serious budgeting. If you were able to save money before you stopped working, then you would not feel the pinch as much.
