Turning Life's Tragedies Into Triumphs

God can take a tragedy and turn it into triumph.

We encounter all kinds of tragedies!

The Healing at the Pool

5 Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for one of the Jewish festivals. 2 Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. 3 Here a great number of disabled people used to lie—the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. [4] 5 One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
7 “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”
8 Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” 9 At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.

Discontinue Blaming Others For Your Predicament

It is easy and convenient to blame others for our failures and misfortunes. Take responsibility! Making bad decisions is a part of life. Blaming others for your bad decisions is immature.

Discern That God Sees/Knows Your Troubles

God sees you and He wants to help you get well. God knows exactly what you need, who you need, when you need it.

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Decide To Change

Jesus asked the man "Do you want to get well?" "Get Up, Pick up your mat and walk." The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.

Believe That The Impossible Is Possible

That miracle can happen to you! The man was made whole. Although in the natural there was no hope for him. He triumphed over tragedy!

Let your faith be bigger than your fear!

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
