SSS Warns Members: Don't Fall Victim To Fixers, Online Scammers, And Fake Emails

​Protect yourself from Social Security Scams!

I received an email from SSS regarding their reminder of online scammers, fixers, and fake emails.

• Beware of fixers that offer SSS service in exchange for a “transaction fee.” Fixing is strictly prohibited under the Social Security Act of 2018 and the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
• The SSS is not responsible for any transaction of the member conspiring with the fixer. SSS will not respond to loan applications/benefit claims that can be verified through the fixer.
• Carefully check the identity of the person who contacted you on social media, phone, text, or email.
• Beware of emails that are supposed to be from SSS asking for your personal information such as your SS Number, USER ID, password, and disbursement account. Do not disclose and keep such information "confidential."

• You can also go to the E-Center of any SSS branch where there is a Member Service Representative who is willing to assist members in using online services.

If you receive a suspicious email, text message, social media message, or call asking for your personal information, report it immediately to any SSS branch, or email the SSS Special Investigation Department (SID) at [email protected] or call SID's telephone number (02) 8924-7370 or SSS Hotline 1455.
