PSE releases updated information on the pertinent SBL developments and the effectiveness of the short-selling guidelines. As a follow-up to PSE Memorandum CN-No. 2023-0048 In order to give market participants more time to get ready for and adhere to the various requirements needed to perform securities borrowing and lending (SBL) activities as well as short selling transactions, the Exchange is extending the planned launch and implementation of the PSE Short Selling Program from October 23, 2023, to November 6, 2023 (Short Selling Go-Live Date). Due to the changed launch date, PSE strongly advises trading participants to assess their readiness to support SBL transactions and short-sell orders. This may involve, but is not limited to, carrying out the following actions:
The Exchange encourages the investing public and market participants to visit the SBL and Short Selling page in the PSE website (www.pse.com.ph) in order to learn more about securities borrowing and lending and short selling, as well as the pertinent requirements, forms, documentation, and regulations, in order to get ready for the short selling go-live date. You can write the PSE Business Development Department at [email protected] with any questions you may have about the PSE Short Selling Program. The updated circular on the Regulatory Framework for Securities Borrowing and Lending and Short Selling Transactions is published on the announcements section of the PSE website.
