Life lessons from the ants

Winners are not people who never fail, but people who never quit.

God tells us we can learn from the ant. What can ants teach us? Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

Ants are great teachers. They can help you succeed professionally more than your academic or technical education. Ants are diligent and prudent: diligent by working hard without coercion, and prudent by saving part of all production.

We need to learn these two basic rules for success to amount to anything in life.

Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.

Proverbs 6:6-8

What can we learn from observing the ants?

The Ant is:

Committed to a mission
Orderly and Organized
Communicative and Co-operative
Persistent and Hardworking
United in purpose

Ants never quit

If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them, they'll look for another way.
They'll climb over, they'll climb under, they'll climb around.
They keep looking for another way.

Lesson:

To never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go.

Ants think winter all summer

You can't be so naive as to think summer will last forever.
So ants are gathering their winter food in the middle of summer.
You've got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun.

Lesson:

It is important to be realistic. Think ahead.

Ants think summer all winter

During the winter, ants remind themselves, "This won't last long; we'll soon be out of here."
At the first warm day, the ants are out.
If it turns cold again, they'll drive back down, but then they come out the first warm day.

Lesson:

Be wise, hard worker, preservers, cooperates, diligent, responsible, takes initiative and enjoys learning.

All That You Possibly Can

How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter?
All that he possibly can.

Do all you can and more!

We must beware the propensity we have to be lazy—both physically and spiritually. Go to the ant! “Consider her ways and be wise”! Think on these things!
