Beware of the Fake SEC Philippines Social Media Accounts

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) advised the public to beware of bogus social media accounts that use Exchange's logo.

According to the SEC, it has not authorized the creation of the following social media accounts:

​According to the SEC, the Commission only acknowledges and maintains the following social media pages or accounts as of the date of this advisory (October 27, 2023):

Twitter (now X)	@SEC_Philippines	twitter.com/SEC_Philippines

​Due to this, the general public is encouraged to use caution when interacting with any person or group that uses the official SEC logo on its social media pages. The general public is further warned not to engage in any transactions with the aforementioned entities or persons or use their services, and to refrain from clicking on any links that they may provide through their phony accounts. The Exchange further advises the general public to only conduct business or express concerns regarding SEC matters using the Commission's official social media accounts, other online platforms, and contact information, all of which are listed on the Commission's website at www.sec.gov.ph.

​You can report any information you have about unauthorized or fake social media accounts that continue to pose as official SEC accounts or any other social media accounts that use the official SEC logo in addition to the accounts mentioned above by sending an email to [email protected].
