Personal Development, Finance, and Investing For Filipinos
An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest. Financial Education is your best investment.
"You have to have a dream whether big or small. Then plan, focus, work hard and be very determined to achieve your goals." Remembering Tatang Henry Sy Sr.
It has become a cliché but success came to Henry Sy as a result of hard work, smart work, tenacity, frugality, self-discipline, and a thirst for learning.
Who is Henry Sy, Sr.?
Henry Tan Chi Sieng Sy Sr. was a Chinese Filipino business magnate, investor, and philanthropist known for his involvement in the Philippines' retail industry. He was born in Xiamen, China, and studied there until he was 12 and then moved with his family to the Philippines.
While his family returned to China, he stayed and founded ShoeMart, a small Manila shoe store, in 1958. Over the decades he developed ShoeMart into SM Investments, one of the largest conglomerates in the Philippines.
There is no such thing as overnight success
Here are some pieces of wisdom from Tatang Henry Sy, Sr. to become successful.
Know what you want and have a goal.
Plan well and work hard to realize your goal.
Remember the importance of balance in business and in life.
Don't waste anything. It is not right.
Good luck is a combination of an opportunity knocking
Do something to help others in society.
Dedicate yourself to work and discipline
Live a simple life.
Only the first million is difficult to make. After that, the rest is easy.
What can we do? Simple: daily, we can make intentional choices that help us advance in any area of our life.
It’s the little right things done daily that create the life we want.
Build your life by design, not by chance.
To a better you!
