Lessons I Have Learned
You may experience a situation that is devastating, but do not be so "wise" as to predict that God cannot help you. He can. The Savior who calmed the winds and the waves for the disciples will help you no matter what storm assails.
"What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him? (Matthew 8:27). The disciples in the Fishing boat were utterly amazed at how quickly the storm had scuttled.
As the disciples walked with Jesus, they learned that He handled God's truth with authority and taught with gentleness. They witnessed Him multiply loaves and fishes to feed thousands, and they marveled as Jesus' work of healing the sick and raising the dead.
They realized that Christ had power in every aspect of their lives.
C.H. Spurgeon wrote, "There is no attribute more comforting to His children than of God's sovereignty. Under the most adverse circumstances, in the most severe trials, they believe that sovereignty overrules them, and that sovereignty will sanctify them all."
God is in absolute control of every circumstance of your life. There is no reason to be afraid. Proverbs 3:7-8 admonishes, "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones."
