Virtual Pag-IBIG Integrates with National ID for More Secure, Streamlined Transactions for Members9/19/2025 The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully integrated the National ID authentication services with Virtual Pag-IBIG of the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) for a more secure and streamlined transaction experience for members. Also known as the Provident Fund Management System, Virtual Pag-IBIG is an online portal where members and employers can access services, view records, and manage their savings and contributions. Its integration to the National ID authentication services removes unnecessary steps, reduces redundancies, and ensures that only the rightful member is granted access to benefits and opportunities.
The integration was formalized during a ceremonial signing event at the PSA Headquarters in East Avenue, Quezon City, attended by key PSA officials, including Undersecretary Claire Dennis S. Mapa, PhD, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General, Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PhilSys Registry Office, Assistant National Statistician Marela Lovely Y. Andres of the Policy Coordination and Monitoring Service, Officer-in-Charge Assistant National Statistician Henedine P. Palabras of the Use Case Development and Management Service, and Director Eliezer P. Ambatali of the PSA Legal Service. Also present were representatives from Pag-IBIG Fund, led by Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta. Usec. Mapa, in his keynote message, emphasized the impact of integrating the National ID with Virtual Pag-IBIG. “With the integration of National ID Authentication Services into Virtual Pag-IBIG, we take a bold step toward modernizing government digital infrastructure. This initiative directly supports Pag-IBIG Fund’s mission to enhance the efficiency, integrity, and accessibility of its services—particularly in loan applications, membership registration, and other vital transactions. It is a testament to how the National ID can truly serve as an enabler of digital government, fostering trust, convenience, and inclusivity for millions of Filipinos here and abroad,” Usec. Mapa said. Asec. Bautista underscored that the integration helps enhance public trust. “The National ID will serve as a trusted and verifiable tool to authenticate the identity of every person applying for Pag-IBIG membership online. This directly addresses one of the most important needs of our citizens: trust. For years, people have endured delays, repeated verification steps, and errors when availing of services. Now, with the National ID serving as a reliable proof of identity, Filipinos can be confident that their records are secure, accurate, and recognized,” said Asec. Bautista. Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Acosta thanked the PSA for what she considers an ‘significant step’ towards digitalization. “On behalf of Pag-IBIG Fund, I would like to thank the PSA for this collaboration. This partnership marks a significant step toward delivering a truly digital, seamless, and people-centered public service,” said CEO Acosta. “This initiative is fully aligned with Memorandum Circular No. 95 which directs all government agencies to integrate PhilSys into their processes, databases, and services. With this partnership, Pag-IBIG Fund is among the government agencies to act on that mandate, showing our readiness to embrace PhilSys in a way that directly benefits our members,” CEO Acosta added. Pag-IBIG Fund joins the growing list of government institutions already utilizing the National ID authentication services. Small Business Corporation (SBCorp), an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is able to verify identities of MSME representatives via SBCorp Money mobile app through the National ID authentication services, helping make loan applications more streamlined and secure. In the municipalities of Tublay and Tuba in Benguet, and the City of Maasin in Southern Leyte, processing requests for civil registry documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates have become more secure and streamlined through the National ID authentication services. Not only does it ensure that the recipient of said documents are actual requesters or authorized persons, it also eliminates manual record checking and encoding of a client’s personal information. Recently, the National ID was integrated with Pasig City’s PasigPass to help protect against identity fraud, strengthen data security, and provide verified information on Pasigueños for improved delivery of services, including financial assistance and other social services.
