PSE Warns the Public Against Unauthorized Investment Solicitation by Fake Exchange Employees

The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) warns the public against individuals who falsely claim to be Exchange employees and are engaging in unauthorized investment solicitation. They use the PSE logo and an email address with PSE in its user ID, and share stock market updates and investment-related information on their social media accounts to create the false impression that they are affiliated with the Exchange.

​The scammers purport to offer mutual funds and exclusive investment opportunities, including an alleged short selling investment scheme with a 200 percent return in two (2) months for a minimum investment of P50,000.00. When investors seek the release of their funds or supposed returns, the scammers cite reasons why the money cannot be released such as assets being frozen by the government.

The fraudulent solicitation also identify the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (“PAGCOR”) as a purported partner in the alleged investment program. PSE has no information indicating, and this advisory should not be construed as suggesting, PAGCOR’s participation in, endorsement of, or affiliation with the alleged scheme.

PSE would like to remind the public of the following:

• Employees or officers of the Exchange do not solicit investments, or reach out to individual investors whether through letters, e-mail correspondence, instant messaging apps, social media platforms or other communication channels.
• PSE does not manage investment accounts for individual investors, receive funds from the public for investment, or offer investment programs promising fixed or guaranteed returns.
• The Exchange does not partner with public and private entities to solicit investments or offer exclusive investment opportunities.
• All legitimate stock transactions are done through PSE-accredited trading participants (TPs) or stock brokerage firms. Contact them through the published information on the PSE website, as there are scammers who also use the name and logo of these TPs for fake investments. Refer to Circular CN-2026-0002 dated January 16, 2026.
• Exercise extreme caution and vigilance in dealing with companies or individuals soliciting investments, offering ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes.
• Proceeds from legitimate stock transactions are never withheld.
• If names of individuals are indicated on documents, it would be prudent to get in touch with the company they are supposedly connected with to ascertain their affiliation. Check the contact details used such as the office address, e-mail address, telephone number to determine whether these details are accurate and official.
• Official email communications use authorized organization-owned domains and not public email services.

Based on the foregoing, PSE disclaims any obligation or liability for decisions made or action taken based on fraudulent communications that use the PSE’s name and logo. The Exchange urges the public to remain vigilant and to independently verify the legitimacy of any documents or requests that claim affiliation with the Exchange.
