PSA Warns the Public Against National ID Scam

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) warns the public against individuals posing as personnel of the agency providing online assistance related to the National ID via fake emails or video calls.

Said individuals typically send emails using email display names like “PSA Support Team” with subject headers such as “National ID Update and Confirmation”. Others would initiate video calls via platforms like Google Meet and insist registered persons to download a mobile application similar to the eGovPH app.

The PSA would like to reiterate that such emails are FAKE and that such activities are NOT AUTHORIZED by the agency. 

The username and domain of the official National ID email

The PSA underscores that its official email for concerns on the National ID is [email protected] with the display name “National ID Info Center”.

The public is urged to be wary of the username and domain of emails received. For the official email of the National ID, the username is “info” and the domain is “@philsys.gov.ph”.

The PSA strongly advise the public to remain vigilant, avoid engaging with suspicious individuals sending or making unwarranted messages or calls, respectively, and immediately report such incidents to the official channels of the National ID: (1) Facebook at PSAPhilSysOfficial; (2) email via [email protected]; and (3) Hotline 1388 (Fees apply).
