PDIC Warns the Public Against the Misuse of the Name of its President and CEO

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) warns the public against individuals or groups who are fraudulently and without authority using the name and likeness of PDIC President and CEO Roberto B. Tan to solicit monetary contributions under the guise of fundraising activities. 

Based on a report received by the PDIC, a third party was contacted via phone call and text message by an unidentified individual impersonating the PDIC President and CEO, who requested funds for a purported fundraising activity and provided bank details under a name not associated with the PDIC or its officials.

Notice is hereby given that the PDIC does not, and has never authorized its officers, employees, or any third party to solicit monetary contributions or donations from the public for fundraising purposes. Further, no person or entity is authorized to represent or act on behalf of the PDIC President and CEO in connection with such activity or any similar undertaking. 

Accordingly, the PDIC and its officers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or other adverse consequence arising from or in connection with any transaction or dealing with unauthorized individuals or entities purporting to represent the Corporation or its officials.

The PDIC is coordinating with the appropriate authorities regarding this incident and encourages any affected party to report similar fraudulent activities. Any person found to be engaging in such fraudulent misrepresentation may be subject to applicable civil and criminal actions under Philippine law. 

The Corporation strongly urges the public, especially its suppliers and partners, to exercise due diligence and to verify any request claiming affiliation with the PDIC or its officers through the PDIC Public Assistance Department using the official contact details below:
