The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) received a report of a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment scheme that misrepresented PSE as the supposed institution that authenticates or grants licenses for cryptocurrency trading. The scheme encourages potential investors to deal using the website "https://apexoasis.eu/".
According to the information supplied to the Exchange, Apexoasis Europe is in contact with PSE to get an International Asset Conversion License (IACL) for trading cryptocurrency. Potential investors are urged to make a deposit, which is then used to purchase "BXP Units" and an IACL that is fraudulently claimed to have been processed by PSE. The public is advised that PSE is neither connected to, nor has business dealings with the operators of the website “https://apexoasis.eu/”. PSE does not sell cryptocurrencies nor does it process IACLs. The official websites of PSE are the following: PSE main website, https://www.pse.com.ph; PSE EDGE disclosure portal, https://edge.pse.com.ph; PSE EASy platform for Local Small Investors, https://easy.pse.com.ph; PSE EQUIP data analytics site, https://equip.pse.com.ph; and PSE Academy for market education-related materials, https://pseacademy.com.ph. The PSE reiterates that all legitimate securities transactions are done through PSEaccredited trading participants or brokerage firms. PSE and any of its officers, employees and agents, do not undertake securities transactions on behalf of clients. The complete list of the accredited stock brokerage firms of the Exchange is available in the PSE website (www.pse.com.ph) under Trading > Trading Participants. The Exchange advises the public to exercise great caution and vigilance when dealing with companies or people soliciting investments, particularly those offering guaranteed returns or income. Investment scams typically feature claims of large rewards, quick money, or guaranteed profits and do not include information about the risks of investing. The public can contact the PSE to confirm the legitimacy of stock investment plans and the authenticity of documentation purportedly issued by the Exchange. The PSE’s contact details are +632 8876-4888 and [email protected].
