BSP issues an advisory on unauthorized solicitations using the name of MBM Diokno

​​The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) warns the public against fraudulent schemes that falsely use the name of Monetary Board Member Mr. Benjamin E. Diokno to solicit donations for purported charitable purposes.

​​The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) warns the public against fraudulent schemes that falsely use the name of Monetary Board Member Benjamin E. Diokno to solicit donations for purported charitable purposes.

Scammers falsely claim to represent the BSP or its officials and send electronic messages asking targeted victims to donate to purported charitable organizations. These messages include bank account details that are represented as belonging to these charities. 

The BSP emphasizes that the central bank and its officials and personnel neither solicit donations, sponsorships, or financial assistance from the public, nor facilitate these activities for charitable organizations. 

The BSP urges the public to verify the authenticity of any message or document claiming to involve the BSP, the Monetary Board, or its officials and employees through:
