BSP Issues Advisory on VASPs

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reminds the public to exercise caution, conduct due diligence, and refrain from transacting with unlicensed/unauthorized virtual asset service providers (VASPs).

​VASPs are entities that facilitate the exchange or transfer of virtual assets (VAs). VAs refer to any digital representation of value that can be digitally traded, transferred, or used for payment.

To verify the registration status of a VASP, refer to the official list of BSP-registered VASPs on the BSP website (www.bsp.gov.ph​).

The BSP also advises the public to immediately report unlawful or suspicious activities involving VAs and/or VASPs to the BSP through:

This public advisory is issued following the move of the BSP Monetary Board to extend the moratorium on granting new VASP licenses. 

The extension of the moratorium considers the heightened risks associated with VAs and underscores the BSP’s commitment to protect consumers and uphold the stability and integrity of the financial system.​
