The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) reminds the public to exercise caution when dealing with persons or organizations misusing the BSP’s name, logo, or the names of its personnel. On 05 May 2025, the BSP issued a public advisory against an entity using the name “UNA Financing Corporation,” which used the BSP’s logo and names of BSP personnel without authorization.
The legitimate business enterprise registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as UNA Financing Corporation has separately issued advisories clarifying that it is not connected with said misrepresentation, which is fraudulently using its corporate name. In a meeting, the BSP and the SEC-registered UNA agreed to intensify their collaboration to safeguard the public against frauds and scams. Meanwhile, the BSP has referred this matter to SEC for its own verification and investigation in June 2025. It will continue to coordinate closely with SEC and other relevant authorities as may be necessary. The BSP reiterates that in performing its official functions, it does not solicit money, request personal or financial information, or offer investment opportunities or loans to the public.
