Find out if the Business Name (BN) Registration Certificate is authentic or fake.
Before you transact, much better to check and verify it first!
Here in the Philippines, there are several government agencies that a business must be registered with, depending on the type of business. These agencies include among others the following: Department of Trade and Industry, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), Local Government, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Social Security System (SSS), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and Other Agencies.
But for now, what we will discuss is how to verify whether the Business Name Registration Certificate issued by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is authentic or fake. Here are the two ways to know if a certificate is legit or fake:
Scan the QR Code found on the Business Name Registration Certificate
Look at the QR code found at the bottom of the certificate. Using your phone, scan the code to reveal the basic details registered with DTI. It is legit when the information in the certificate matches the scanned QR Code, then you are good to go!
Visit the DTI Website
Go to the DTI Website https://bnrs.dti.gov.ph/search and enter the exact name of the business. It is legit if the system display the details of the registered business.
